New Barn - 2 Way Diamond Grooving
As the inherent traction qualities of new concrete are lost through normal foot traffic and mechanical scraping and cleaning, these floors become too slippery for animals, people and the safe operation of rubber tired tractors, skid steers etc. Concrete floors are grooved with powerful machinery equipped with diamond cutting wheels designed to cut square sharp grooves 1/2" wide by min. 3/8" deep at approximatey 4" centres. Grooves are usually cut length ways of the area to be corrected and then crossway on an angle to allow for steel buckets/blades to scrape floors with out catching in the grooves. Water is channelled off down in the grooves in all directions to drain floors fast keeping foot traffic high and dry. Rubber tired machinery , cattle hooves and people have a positive gripping surface for safe operation.
